LOCATION: Prospect Heights, Brooklyn
Rooted firmly in the belief that childbirth is a normal, physiological experience, this one day mini group class will prepare the pregnant mom and her partner for labor, birth and the immediate postpartum. (Class does not include breastfeeding and newborn care)
Class is open to couples planning birth at hospital, home or birthing center. We will cover the following topics: the physiology of late pregnancy, signs + stages of labor, pain coping strategies, labor support and comforting touch, routine fetal heart monitoring and the risks and benefits of common medical interventions and pain medications, and the immediate postpartum period.
Fee is $325/ couple and class is limited to 5 couples.
